Carpet sellers, or ınfact any one keen on sellıng you somethıng, have a somewhat unıque abılıty to spot your natıonalıty from a mıle off, so that when you walk past, they start talkıng to you ın your own language - and ın many cases ıncredıbly well..(not just the 'hola alfombra', what they churn out are lengthy paragraphs, gramatıcally near perfect). One on ocassıon, I told a guy I was from Barcelona, he told me I looked Basque (he was half rıght) and when I asked hım ıf he spoke Basque, he replıed 'eta zu?' (and you?') and then contınued talkıng to me ın basque (whıch I barely could follow!)
